{ BACKGROUND }

In the early stages of the project, we explored the evolution and experimentation of typefaces,  revealing their complex textures and tones through techniques such as light manipulation and material selection. Our goal was to discover the potential of typefaces and explore how to realize the dreamlike nature of typography. Through these explorations, we produced a series of movie posters.

{ APPROACH }

The movie I chose was “Whiplash”. Through early experimentation, I made the letters in three dimensions and manipulated different lighting angles to cast various shadows, aligning the visual concept with the essence of the movie and also enhancing its overall appeal. I aimed to retain the tactile feel of the instruments within the typography while infusing it with dynamic motion through the use of shadows.
